Free Daily 5-minute Organizing Challenge

Take the daily 5-minute organizing challenge from Messies Anonymous [Email Newsletter]

I used to be completely disorganized at home until I read a book by Sandra Felton and Marsha Sims. These two are the founders of “Messies Anonymous” and really know their stuff when it comes to organization. I really relate to what they say and recommend them for clutter bugs like me. So when I found out that Marsha now sends a free daily email, I was immediately on board with that. I signed up and now get daily organizing…

Hyperthyroid medicine

Hyperthyroid medicine sucks! As far as I know, I have never had an allergic reaction to any kind of medicine- until now. Three weeks into taking methimazole and I broke out in huge, itchy, red hives all over my body. Here’s a leg photo: My endocrinologist prescribed the medicine to me when my thyroid uptake results came back inconclusive and I wasn’t a candidate for RAI/thyroid oblation. When my rash broke out, she had me stop taking the medicine immediately.…

Patio Power Washing Therapy

I find it interesting that the best treatment for hyperthyroidism is to make you hypo and then take meds to regulate it for the rest of your life. Also, I found out that…

Old bread for the birds

We try not to let any food go to waste, but it happens anyway sometimes. When it’s stale bread, I like to provide a treat for the birds. Though I’m not sure if they’re the only ones who enjoy it. ? I recently gave the kiddo a few stale slices of bread and she put them all over our bird feeders. The next day, the bread was completely gone and the bird feeders looked like this: Maybe I need to…

What The Total Money Makeover Did For Me

What The Total Money Makeover Did For Me

This book, The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey, changed my life and the financial trajectory of my family. I first read it back in September 2013 when I knew something needed to change for me because I was so unhappy at work. At that time, I couldn’t just quit because I had a family with financial obligations, and I wanted to retire someday, preferably earlier than the norm! For any chance of that, I felt we needed both mine…
